A Chinese man has been arrested along with eight (8) Zambians who are also employees of a named security company for unlawful drilling in Southern Province.
Upon police investigation, one pistol, seven (7) shot guns and one big airgun with a box containing shotgun ammunition belonging to the security company, was recovered.
The suspects were allegedly being trained by a Chinese national who also ordered them some uniforms from China.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso has confirmed this to Mwebantu in a statement.
Kapeso said the group has been conducting training without clearance from police and that the uniform which they wore was similar to the one used Department of National Parks and Wildlife.
He said the suspects who had set up a training camp 10km North of Livingstone’s weighbridge and 2 km off the Great North Road, are currently in police custody.
Meanwhile, Kapeso said police are waiting for the owner of the security company who is based abroad.
